On February 14,1939 Clay Felts opened the first Felts Shoes in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was heard to say,"With a song on our lips and a prayer in our hearts we opened for business that first day and ran $16.00 in business. It was a great day!"

On August 1, 1992 David Felts the oldest grandson of Clay Felts opened his first Felts Shoes in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  You can still find him there today, helping customers find shoes to help their aching feet.
